If you have planned to sell used items, low price items or unique items, then you may check out flea market, moving sales, yard sales, garage sales, and swap meets. These places will be the main source of your products.

On the other hand, if you decided to sell new items or items that with brand name, then you need to locate wholesalers and drop ship wholesalers to buy from. There are some differences between wholesalers and drop ship wholesalers. A wholesaler gets the products directly from the manufacturers and sells them to you at wholesale price.

Whereas, a drop shipper also buy the products through the manufacturers but you don’t need to invest for the inventory. The drop shipper will provide you a product catalog featuring all the products that the drop shipper is supplying. All you need to do is pick the products you want to sell and start the auctions to list the items for sale on eBay.

When an eBay buyer places an order on your auction, you will collect the payment from the buyer. Once you have received the payment, you will send the order and make payment to the drop shipper. The drop shipper will package and ship the item on your name to the eBay customer.

You will make a profit through the whole process as the buyer pays you the retailed price set by you and you pay the drop shipper wholesale price.

However, drop shipping does have drawbacks. There will be time that your customer has placed an order and you find that the drop shipper is out of stock. This will lead to late product delivery and you will have a lot to explain to your customer. There are also a lot of fake drop ship wholesalers that actually is a middle man who buy from the real drop ship wholesalers and sell it to you at a high price. So, you should always do your home work before dealing with a drop shipper. Check their background, reputation and history. All this information will help find a real and reliable drop shipper.
